Women's Outdoor Track and Field rolls to 60-point victory at 2024 OAC Championships

TIFFIN — Ohio Northern rolled to a 60-point victory at the 2024 Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hoernemann Stadium on Friday.
The Polar Bears led by 59 points after the first day and continued to hold off the opposition to win its fourth OAC Championships title overall and its first since 2018.

- Ohio Northern finished first of 10 teams with 228 points.
- Mount Union was second with 168 points, John Carroll was third with 138 points, Baldwin Wallace was fourth with 83 points and Otterbein was fifth with 67 points.
- Ohio Northern finished the day with 10 All-Conference honorees in the 14 events on Saturday.
Top ONU Performers
- Junior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was named the OAC Field Athlete of the Year after winning the shot put with a school record toss of 13.06 meters and winning the hammer throw at 47.96 meters.
- Junior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) won the 100 hurdles in 15.05.
- Junior Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood) was third in the hammer throw at 45.49 meters to earn All-Conference kudos.
- In the 100 hurdles, senior J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) and Ashbrook earned All-OAC honors with a 2-3 finish in 1:05.88 and 1:05.23, respectively.
- Sophomore Samantha Roth (Brunswick) and sophomore Kennedy Rader (Mason) were All-OAC in the 5k. Roth was second in 17:49.26 and Rader was third in 17:53.41.
- Sophomore Lindsay Weininger (Upper Sandusky) was third in the high jump, clearing 1.63 meters, to grab All-OAC honors.
- Junior Abby Matthews (Lithopolis/Bloom Carroll) was third in the 1500 in 4:44.75 to be named ALl-Conference in the event.

- The top three finishers in each event earn All-Conference honors.
- Ohio Northern's coaching staff of head coach Jason Maus and assistant coaches Molly Amidon, Jason Fisher, Will Buelsing, Emily Richards, Tessa Pitcovich were named the OAC Women's Coaching Staff of the Year.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 15th year at Ohio Northern and is 490-173-3 for women's outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .738.
- He is 1,000-341-4 guiding both the indoor and outdoor seasons in ONU women's track and field.
