Meet Preview: The Ohio Northern women's track and field team is competing in the two-day Bob Kahn Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Oberlin College … The Polar Bears have entries in every event except the 10,000 meters, 100-meter hurdles and the 4x100 relay … On Friday, the field events begin at 4 p.m., and the running events begin at 6:30 p.m. … Saturday's field events begin at 10:30 a.m., and the running events start at 12 p.m. … Northern is coming off its appearance at the Marian (Ind.) Knight Open on Saturday in Indianapolis, which was not team scored … The Polar Bears posted three first-place finishes and four second-place finishes in the event … Senior Tessa Pitcovich led the way, winning the 5,000 meters in 17:37.72, which ranks second in school history … Freshman Olyvia Ashbrook won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.91, which ranks ninth all-time at ONU … The 4x800 relay team of juniors Gabrielle Kowalczyk and Lexi Neff, Ashbrook and sophomore Sydney Goodrich won in 10:08.33 … The Polar Bears' second-place finishers included seniors Kayla Silva (100 meters) and Taylor Ellerbrock (5,000 meters), junior Anna Schatzle (pole vault) and sophomore Oleysa Mertz (1,500 meters).
