This Weekend's Match Notes: The Ohio Northern women's tennis team will play a pair of non-conference road matches this weekend, traveling to Aurora (Ill.) on Friday at 3 pm (4 pm EST) and to NCAA Division I foe Valparaiso on Saturday evening at 6 pm ... ONU has a long history of facing Division I schools and has victories over Akron, Charleston (W.Va.), Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne, Robert Morris (Pa.) and Wright State in previous seasons ... Northern is coming off a 9-0 sweep of Muskingum on Wednesday ... Thus far this season, junior Mackenzie Wills leads the team with a 16-2 singles record, a 17-3 doubles mark and a 33-5 overall record ... Senior Ashley Ochsenhirt also owns a 16-3 doubles record and is 28-9 overall ... Junior Katie Curry is second on the team in singles play at 14-6, and freshman Olivia Schrager is third at 13-8 ... Wills (116-38 overall) and Ochsenhirt (108-40) have each become members of ONU's 100-Win Club this season ... Aurora plays its schedule in the fall, but has spring matches with Ohio Northern and North Park (Ill.) on April to wrap up its season ... The Spartans wrapped up its 2018 season with a 6-3 victory over Alverno (Wis.) in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest ... Giselle Salazar leads AU with five singles wins, five doubles wins and a 10-14 overall record ... Valparaiso is looking to snap a 6-match losing streak and will face Missouri Valley Conference foe Bradley at 2 pm prior to its match with ONU at 6 pm ... Claire Czerwonka has 3 wins at No. 1 singles and Meg Modesto has 3 wins at No. 2 singles to lead the Crusaders.

Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 18th season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 359-95 (.791) record, including a 135-14 (.906) mark against conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles.
