Women's Tennis blanks Aurora (Ill.) 9-0 in non-conference action for fourth consecutive victory

AURORA, Ill. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches with a 9-0 non-conference victory at Aurora (Ill.) on Friday afternoon at the Washington Middle School Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 12-3 overall, while the Spartans fall to 4-11.
ONU won all five singles matches by a combined score of 60-4 and took the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles courts by forfeits as AU only had five healthy players.
Junior Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) and freshman Abigail Staskiewicz (Mars, Pa./Oakland Catholic) each went 2-0 with victories on the court.
Curry won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles, Staskiewicz won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 singles and the pair combined to win 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Senior Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, freshman Olivia Schrager (Dayton/Miami Valley) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and junior Mackenzie Wills (Ada) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for Ohio Northern.
Junior Jordan Dodson (Worthington) and freshman Kayleigh Cummins (Galena/Big Walnut) completed the sweep with an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Ohio Northern will continue its road trip this weekend with a 6 pm contest on Saturday night at NCAA Division I foe Valparaiso.
