Wednesday's Game: The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team will kick off its 2019 season on Wednesday evening against Hiram at Dial-Roberson Stadium ... ONU is optimistic heading into the season with 16 lettermen back from last year's squad that went 6-10 overall and were 3-5 in the OAC ... After a season away in 2018, junior Maddie Storr returns to the team as the program's all-time leader in goals (59), man-up goals (8), shots (128), shots on goal (107), and hat tricks (12) ... Storr also owns eight single-season program records and four single-game records ... Juniors Eli Carter (23 goals) and Betsy Naugle (49 goals) and sophomore Sydney Skelding (30 goals) also return to the lineup on attack ... Junior Jacqui Lohman and Ann McArn and sophomore Sabra Woodruff all return as starters in the midfield ... The defense will again be led by senior All-Conference honoree Emily Hershberger and junior Rachel Shipman ... Juniors Claire Kaiding and Chrysa Soures and sophomores Hannah Cornelius, Kayla Penrod and Megan O'Grodnik also return ... Junior Kelli Hill is back after splitting time in goal the past two seasons ... The Terriers enter Wednesday's game off a 17-5 loss to Medaille (N.Y.) in their season opener on Sunday ... Senior Katelyn Slomovitz led Hiram with 3 goals ... Juniors Tayler Hall and Alexis Hirsch also scored goals ... Hall also had a team-best 5 assists ... Sophomore Gillian Mcmaster had 8 saves in goal ... HC has 11 returners from last year's squad that set a program record with 6 victories.
