Hilty, Rosser, Howell, and King named Academic All-District in Softball by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Ohio Northern juniors Taylor Hilty (Kettering/Fairmont) and Callie Rosser (Republic/Monroeville) and sophomores Lainie Howell (Upper Sandusky/Riverdale) and Kylie King (London/Jonathan Alder) were named 2024 Academic All-District in softball by College Sports Communicators.
The 2023 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have played in at least 50 percent of her team's games or pitched at least 10 innings during the season.
Hilty and Rosser are now both two-time Academic All-District selections.
Hilty, an exercise physiology major, batted .190 on the year with 12 hits, seven RBIs, five doubles, and 11 runs. Defensively, she only committed nine errors in 32 games for a fielding percentage of .914.
In 87 career games, she has a .211 average to go along with 38 hits, 19 RBIs, six doubles, one home run, and 23 runs.
Rosser ended the season with a .345 average and had 48 hits, 21 RBIs, 10 doubles, four triples, one home run, and 32 runs.
The exercise physiology major is a career .326 hitter with 95 hits, 41 RBIs, 16 doubles, four triples, two home runs, and 58 runs in 94 total games.
Howell, a pharmaceutical and biomedical science major, finished with a .237 average, 19 hits, 5 RBIs, one double, and nine runs this season. Defensively, she had only one error and a fielding percentage of .968.
In her career, she has an average of .234, 25 hits, 8 RBIs, one double, and 12 runs in 48 total games.
King finished the season with a .277 average, 31 hits, 9 RBIs, one double, and 14 runs. Defensively, she only committed four errors in 41 games for a fielding percentage of .945.
The psychology major has a career average of .256 in 51 games to go along with 33 hits, 10 RBIs, one double, and 16 runs.
The Polar Bears finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 24-20 and were runner-ups in the OAC Tournament under eighth-year head coach Jackie Price.
