Five Polar Bears named Second Team All-OAC in Softball for 2024

ADA — Ohio Northern fifth-year senior Sydney Motylinski (Ida, Mich.), senior Kaylie Griffin (Grafton/Elyria Catholic), juniors Ashley Lenser (Brookville) and Mariana Alejandro (Gibsonburg), and sophomore Allie Wilson (Wapakoneta) were named Second Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference in softball for the 2024 season in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.
Motylinski is now a four-time All-OAC pick as three-time Second Team All-Conference selection and one-time First Team All-Conference selection at third base.
She finished the season batting .336 with 47 hits, including seven doubles, three triples, and nine home runs.
Motylinski ranks 8th at ONU in single-season RBIs after finishing the season with a team-high 46. She also ranks 8th all-time for RBIs with 112.
A career .321 hitter, she has 25 doubles, five doubles, 26 home runs, and 106 runs in 155 games in her five years at ONU.
Griffin is now a two-time All-OAC selection after being named to First Team in 2022 as a catcher.
She finished the season batting .357 with 50 hits, 33 RBIs, 12 doubles, one triple, three home runs, and 32 runs. She led the team in doubles, ranked tied for second in hits and runs, and was third in batting average and RBIs.
In 118 games over four years, she batted .344 with 126 hits, 71 RBIs, 27 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, and 80 runs.
Lenser is now a three-time All-OAC selection after being named OAC Freshman of the Year and OAC Pitcher of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
Twice named the OAC Pitcher of the Week this season, Lenser finished the season 13-5 with a 2.18 ERA and 106 strikeouts in 125.1 innings. She is now ranked 8th at ONU for single-season strikeouts.
She also contributed offensively, batting .306 with 48 hits, including seven doubles, a triple, and three home runs, and 23 RBIs on the year.
In her career, Lenser is 35-17 with a 1.94 ERA and 240 strikeouts. She ranks 9th all-time at ONU in wins, 6th in ERA, and 6th in strikeouts.
This is Alejandro's first time being named All-Conference at center field.
She finished the season batting .368 with 50 hits, including three triples and a home run, and also had 15 stolen bases. She led the team in stolen bases, ranked second in batting average, and was tied for second in hits.
Alejandro recorded 79 put outs in center field and had a fielding percentage of .933.
This is Wilson's first All-OAC honor at first base.
She finished the season with a team-best batting average of .381 and team-high 51 hits. She also had 39 RBIs, nine doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 26 runs.
The Polar Bears posted a 24-20 record in 2024, was fourth in the OAC with a 10-8 mark and finished runner-up at the OAC Tournament under seventh-year head coach Jackie Price.
