OAC Championships Preview: The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field program is set to host the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships this Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23 inside the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse ... Field events begin Friday at 12 p.m. with running events set for a 4:30 p.m. start ... On day two, action resumes at 10 a.m. with the remaining field event competitions ... The Polar Bears enter the weekend sporting a 16-7 overall record in the 2019 season ... ONU currently ranks seventh on the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region power rankings ... The Orange and Black have eight marks that rank among the top-three in their respective events on the conference performance list ... Last weekend, Ohio Northern concluded its regular season at the Flag City Open, hosted by Findlay ... In the unscored meet, Ohio Northern registered three individual event titles ... Freshman sprinter Nate Dean picked up a victory in the 400-meter dash with a career-best :51.13 clocking ... Sophomore Sam Krabacher and junior Griffin Skaff bested the 500- and 5,000-meter run fields in 1:09.07 and 16:27.72, respectively ... Meanwhile, sophomore Donovin Moran (500-meter run) and junior Andrew Shelton (800-meter run) each recorded runner-up finishes for the mid-distance group ... In the field, ONU placed three pole vault specialists in the top-five last weekend as freshmen Andrew Buderer and Luke Shellhaas and sophomore Donald Gaylord II ended second, fourth, and fifth, respectively ... Meanwhile, junior Kyle Neff took home third in the 1,000-meter run in a career-best 2:39.54 ... Last season, the Polar Bears ended third at the OAC Championships with 104 points.
