This Weekend's Championships: The Ohio Northern men's golf team will travel east to the 2018 OAC Championships at River Greens Golf Course ... The 72-hole tournament features the nine OAC schools that sponsor men's golf ... The teams are scheduled to play 27 holes beginning at 10 am on Friday, 27 holes beginning at 9 am on Saturday and 18 holes beginning at 11 am on Sunday ... The top 14 players and ties after the 72 holes are completed earn All-Conference honors. ... ONU is coming off an eighth place finish at the Defiance Spring Invitational April 21-22 at Eagle Rock GC ... Senior Zach Goodchild tied a school record with a first round 67, followed that with a second round 74 to win Medalist honors by one stroke with a 141 to lead Ohio Northern ... Goodchild was first out of 101 golfers with his 1-over par 141, which is his career low and is just one stroke off the school record 36-hole score of 140 set by Colin Burns in 2012 and Tyler Davis in 2015 ... This marks his second Medalist honor this season, as he won the Bluffton Fall Invitational Sept. 1-2 of 2017 ... His first round 67 tied the school record set in 2007 by Andrew Rahrig, who's 67 was a 4-under par score ... Freshman Ethan Smith tied for 54th with a 77-81—158, sophomore Ryan Tatman tied for 62nd with a 78-81—159 and junior Nick Anderson tied for 70th with a 78-83—161. ... In 14 rounds this season, Goodchild leads the team with a 74.6 stroke average ... Anderson is second at 78.1 and Tatman is third at 80.6.
