Women's Cross Country finishes 13th of 44 teams under the lights at NCAA Division III Pre-National Meet

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished 13th out of 44 teams at the NCAA Division III Pre-National meet under the lights on Friday night.
The Basics

- #4 MIT won the team title with 56 points, #2 Chicago (Ill.) placed 2nd with 145 points, #17 DePauw (Ind.) finished 3rd with 206 points and #10 Washington (Mo.) finished fourth with 208 points.
Top ONU Performers
- Senior Ashley Hockstok (Westerville) led ONU across the finish line, placing 35th overall in the 389-woman field in 22:21.
- Junior Kennedy Rader (Mason) was 63rd overall, finishing in 22:48
- Sophmore Anna Sophia Gower (Perrysburg) was 94th in 23:13.
- Junior Samantha Roth (Brunswick) finished 114th in 23:26.
- Junior Dani Widmark (Zanesfield) was 138th in a career best 23:43.
Notables
- The contest started at 9:00 pm EDT and was held with the help of more than 50 temporary lighting standards illuminating the course., which will be the site of the NCAA III Championships.
- There were 8 ranked teams that ran, Ohio Northern defeated #18 Central College by four points
- 16th-year head coach Jason Maus is now 1344-512 as head coach of the ONU women's cross country program and is the winningest coach in program history.
