Women's Cross Country finishes third of 21 at Franklin (Ind.) Invitational

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished third out of 21 teams on Saturday morning at the Franklin (Ind.) Invitational.
The Basics

- The Polar Bears finished third out of 21 scoring teams.
- #13-ranked DePauw (Ind.) won the team title with 47 points, Trine (Ind.) placed 2nd with 80 points and Case Western finished 4th with 110 points.
Top ONU Performers
- Junior Kennedy Rader (Mason) led ONU across the finish line, placing 5th overall in the 238-woman field in 20:47
- Senior Ashley Hockstock (Westerville/Central) was 7th overall, finishing in 22:57
- Junior Samantha Roth (Brunswick) was 17th in a career best 23:29.
- Junior Dani Widmark (Zanesfield) finished 27th in 24:00.
- Senior Abby Matthews (Lithopolis) was 28th in 24:01.
Notables
- This is Ohio Northern's first year running at the Blue River Invitational since 2018, when the women placed first of six teams.
- The course will also host the NCAA III Great Lakes Regional Championships on Nov. 16.
- 16th-year head coach Jason Maus is now 1292-496 as head coach of the ONU women's cross country program and is the winningest coach in program history.
