Saturday's Championships Race Notes: Senior Tessa Pitcovich will represent the Ohio Northern women's cross country team at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. … The event is being hosted by Spalding University and the Louisville Sports Commission … The women's race is set to begin at noon following the start of the men's race at 11 a.m. … A live stream of the championships will occur on NCAA.com beginning at 11 a.m. until the conclusion of the awards ceremony … This marks the 17th consecutive year that ONU cross country is being represented at the NCAA Championships … The top 40 finishers at the NCAA Championships will receive All-American honors … This marks the second time Pitcovich has qualified for the NCAA Championships after doing so as a sophomore in 2019 … Pitcovich ran the 6,000-meter course at Tom Sawyer State Park in 22:40 in 2019 to finish 77th out of 280 runners … Pitcovich, the runner-up at the this year's Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, earned All-Region recognition following her fifth-place finish out of 266 runners at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships at Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville, Ind., on Saturday, running a time of 22:08 on the 6,000-meter course … Her time is the fourth-fastest all-time at ONU for 6,000 meters … Pitcovich qualified for the NCAA Championships as one of 70 individual at-large selections, who were the first seven student-athletes from each region who were not part of a qualifying team … ONU ran at Tom Sawyer State Park in the Louisville Classic earlier this season, and Pitcovich placed 18th out of 277 runners with a time of 22:48.3.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 13th season as head coach of the women's cross-country team … He has coached three women's cross-country teams to Ohio Athletic Conference titles … Maus is also the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Northern women's cross-country history.
