ONU Race Notes: Ohio Northern enters Saturday ranked No. 8 in the Great Lakes Region ... The women's race is 6,000 meters … The women's Varsity (top-10) race begins at 10:30 a.m., and the women's open race begins at 12 p.m. … ONU will have runners in both races … Ohio Northern last competed in the Oberlin Rumble in 2019 and finished ninth of 32 teams ... October 2nd, the Polar Bears traveled to the Lousiville Classic and finished ninth of 37 teams ... ONU was led by seniors Tessa Pitcovich and Taylor Ellerbrock finished 18th and 27th overall, in times of 22:48.3 and 23:00.7, respectively ... The rest of ONU's top 5 finishers were senior Rue Whitmore crossing 55th in 23:44.0, sophomore Megan Vapenik finishing 84th in 24:17.8, and freshman Olyvia Ashbrook placing 89th in 24:24.6.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 13th season as head coach of the men's cross country team … In 12 seasons at ONU, he has guided the men's cross country teams to a 1,200-310 record, a .795 win percentage, and four Ohio Athletic Conference crowns, while the women's cross country teams have compiled a 1,002-426 record, a .702 win percentage, and three OAC titles … Maus currently stands as the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Northern school history for both men's and women's cross-country.
