ONU Race Notes: The Ohio Northern women's cross country team will compete in the Great Lakes Regional Championships Saturday … The meet will be held at the Gainey Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids, Michigan … The women are scheduled to race at 12:15 p.m., while the men will run at 11:00 a.m. … The Polar Bears — who enter the meet ranked No. 8 in the region — have placed in the top half of the field in five of their six meets this season with one victory … Northern is fresh off a fourth-place finish at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships two weekends ago … In that race, sophomore Tessa Pitcovich paced the Polar Bears, crossing ninth overall in a time of 23:27.7, which earned her All-OAC recognition … Senior Kathleen Colvin wasn't far behind, placing 13th overall with a time of 23:35.8, which also won her an All-OAC award … Junior Megan Wright gave Northern a trio of All-OAC honorees, as she finished 14th overall after clocking in at 23:36.6. … Junior Kylie Vestal and sophomore Rue Whitmore rounded out ONU's top-five, recording times of 24:21.3 and 24:26.5, respectively … The Polar Bears have placed in the top 10 at regionals each of the last two years.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 11th season as head coach of the women's cross-country team … He has coached three women's cross-country teams to Ohio Athletic Conference titles … Maus is also the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Northern women's cross-country history.
