Junior Emily Richards named OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ADA — Junior Emily Richards was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her efforts at the Bluffton 5k Friday evening.

Richards, who ran the fourth fastest 5k time in Polar Bear history, led Northern (5-1) across the finish line and won the event in 18:22.82

The junior earns her third OAC Runner of the Week honor.

Northern finished second with 47 points. Division II-foe Findlay won the race with 46 points and Heidelberg finished third with 73 points.

The Polar Bears will return to action Sept. 16 as they travel to East Lansing to compete in the Michigan State Spartan Invitational at 12:30 pm.
