OBERLIN — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished 9th of 29 teams at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble at the Oberlin College Cross Country Course.

The Polar Bears (66-26 overall) finished with 237 points.

Sophomore Emily Richards led the way for Ohio Northern, finishing 12th of 247 runners in 21:54 over the 6,000-meter course.

The race featured runners from 29 schools in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, New York, Michigan, West Virginia, Massachusetts, and Tennessee.

Junior Genevieve Marchese finished 43rd in 22:32, senior Margaret Sorg finished 58th in 22:46, freshman Ashlie Baumann finished 59th in 22:46, and senior Rebekah McCutchen finished 66th in 22:52 for Ohio Northern.

Kelsey Patrick of Lebanon Valley (Pa.) won the individual race in 21:01.

Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) won the race with 115 points, followed by Case Western Reserve in second with 139 points, Oberlin in third with 166 points, NYU in fourth with 169 points, and Fredonia State (N.Y.) in fifth with 169 points. 

The Polar Bears will return to action on October 31 at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships held at Baldwin Wallace.
