Sophomore Emily Richards leads Ohio Northern at Calvin (Mich.) Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team finished 8th of 25 teams Saturday afternoon as they competed at the Calvin (Mich.) Invitational 5k.

The Polar Bears improve to 21-7 on the season.

Aquinas (Mich.) won the event with 78 points, No. 8 Calvin (Mich.) was second with 115 points and No. 9 Hope (Mich.) finished third with 123 points.

Sophomore Emily Richards led the way for the Polar Bears as she finished in ninth place and ran a career-best 5k time of 18:35.0. 

Freshman Ashlie Baumann finished 48th overall in 19:19.3.

Northern will return to action Saturday at 11 am as they travel to the Rochester (N.Y.) Invitational.
