Eight student/athletes named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in Women's Cross Country

ADA — Eight Ohio Northern student/athletes were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in women's cross country for the 2013 season.
Seniors Laura Avino, Brittany Lang and Brooke Larsen, juniors Catie Huber, Julie Puvogel, Kara Sosinski and Raechel Moore and sophomore Margaret Sorg all received the honor.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.50.
Avino led the Polar Bears at the OAC Championships, finishing a team-best 32nd. She came on strong at the end of her career, posting her only top-7 finishes in her final two races as a Polar Bear.
She was fourth on the team with a low time of 24:20 for 6,000 meters.
Lang is a three-year member of the cross country team. She had all five of her career top-7 finishes for the Polar Bears this season and was fifth on the team with a season-low 6k time of 24:21.
Larsen is a three-year letterwinner and wrapped up her career with ten top-7 finishes for ONU.
She finished sixth on the squad this year with a low 8k time of 24:31.
Huber is also an All-Conference honoree, finishing 12th at the OAC Championships as a sophomore in 2012.
She has 10 top-7 finishes to her credit in her career and led ONU across the finish line in the season-opening Bluffton Invitational this fall.
Huber was second on the team this year with a season-low 23:55 for 6,000 meters.
Puvogel is a two-year letterwinner and had top-7 finishes in all seven races this year.
She was ninth on the team with a season-low 25:04.
Sosinski finished among ONU's top-7 runners in all seven meets this season and is a two-year letterwinner.
She finished eighth on the team with a low time of 24:38 for 6,000 meters this fall.
Moore posted her first career top-7 finish in the season-opening Bluffton Invitational, where she ran a career-best time for the 5,000-meter course.
Sorg competed in six races this fall and had a top-7 finish, the first of her career, in the season-opening Bluffton Invitational.
The Polar Bears post their 23rd consecutive winning season with a record of 62-56 and finished fifth at the OAC Championships under fifth-year head coach Jason Maus.
