Women's Cross Country opens 2013 season with victory at Bluffton Invitational

BLUFFTON —The Ohio Northern women's cross country team opened its 2013 season with a victory at the Bluffton Invitational on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (2-0) finished with 31 points, Heidelberg was second with 39 points and Bluffton was third with 96 points. A team of ONU Alumni scored 76 points in the meet.
Junior Catie Huber led ONU across the finish line, placing second of 52 runners in 20:18 over the 5,000-meter course.
Junior Samantha Hoffman was third in 20:18, sophomore Kara Sosinski was sixth in 20:34, senior Erin Radigan was seventh in 20:40 and sophomore Margaret Sorg was 13th in 20:49.
Sophie Goobic of Heidelberg won the race in 19:29.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday at the Hanover (Ind.) Invtational.
