Women's Cross Country jumps up 10 spots in second weekly USTFCCCA poll
ADA — The Ohio Northern women's cross country team moved up 10 spots to No. 25 in the second 2011 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association weekly poll.
The Polar Bears (19-4) were ranked No. 35 in the first weekly poll and No. 33 in the USTFCCCA Preseason poll.
Northern received 85 points in voting conducted by the eight-member voting panel, 70 more than the 15 it received in last week's poll/
The Polar Bears posted their 19th consecutive winning season, won their fifth OAC crown and was ranked as high as No. 14 in 2010.
Defending national champion Middlebury (Vt.) is ranked first, Washington (Mo.), MIT is third and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.) is ranked fourth.
Ohio Northern will return to action Sept. 30 at the All-Ohio Championships at Cedarville.
