Volleyball sweeps No. 24 Calvin (Mich.) and Trine (Ind.) in non-conference action

ANGOLA, Ind. — Ohio Northern swept No. 24-ranked Calvin (Mich.) and Trine (Ind.) in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Records: Ohio Northern (14-4 Overall), #24 Calvin (10-6 Overall), Trine (13-3 Overall).
• Northern defeated Calvin 25-22, 25-19, 26-24 and swept Trine 25-22, 25-13, 25-16.
• In the first match of the day, Calvin swept Trine 25-10, 27-25, 25-15.

#24 Calvin Match Highlights

• Senior Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) had a match-high 18 kills and hit .419 with four blocks.
• Freshman Summer Hoying (Fort Loramie) added 10 kills, 10 digs and hit .409.
• Senior Grace Conrad (Somerset/Sheridan) and freshman Haley Hammer (Cecil/Fairview) each had 16 assists.
• Senior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) had a team-leading 13 digs and 8 assists.
• Calvin was led by Aerin Baker with 16 kills. 
• The Polar Bears hit .264 for the match with 46 kills, while the Knights hit .213 with 42 kills in the match.

Trine Match Highlights

• Wagner had a game-high 11 kills and hit .500.
• Hoying added 10 kills, five digs and three blocks.
• Conrad had 18 assists.
• Jennings had a team-leading 10 digs.
• Trine was led by Madison Dominick with 11 kills. 
• The Polar Bears hit .348 for the match with 40 kills, while the Thunder hit .178 with 37 kills in the match.
