Schweller, Burman, Ford compete at NCAA III Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Three members of the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team competed at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Friday.

Top ONU Performers
- Junior All-American Claire Schweller (Paulding) was ninth in the pole vault by clearing 3.92 meters, missing her indoor PR by just .02 of a meter.
- Junior Ellie Ford (Upper Arlington) was 13th in the pole vault by clearing 3.77 meters, missing her indoor PR by just .02 of a meter.
- Senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was 13th in the weight throw with a toss of 17.18 meters.
Notables
- Schweller entered the meet ranked fifth nationally in the event with a career-best 3.94 meters.
- She remains second all-time at ONU at 12-11.
- Schweller was ninth at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships (3.77m) and earned All-America honors Outdoors last spring, finishing fifth by clearing 3.84 meters.
- Ford is making her first appearance at the NCAAs and is seeded 18th after clearing a career-best 3.79 meters. She is fifth all-time in ONU history with that mark.
- Burman entered the meet ranked #17 nationally in the weight throw at 58' 1.75" (17.72m).
- Last season, she was 19th at the NCAA Indoor Championships (15.84m)
- The top 20 individuals in each event qualify for the NCAA III Championships. The top eight finishers earn All-America honors.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 607-178-1 in women's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .772. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
