Freshman Tatum Walsh breaks 200-meter dash school record for third time this year, leads Women's Track and Field at Wittenberg Invitational

SPRINGFIELD — Freshman Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath) broke her own record in the 200-meter dash to lead the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team at the Wittenberg Invitational on Saturday.

Top ONU Performers
- Freshman Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath) broke her own record in the 200 in 25.21 seconds.
- Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) won the weight throw with a toss of 17.12 meters. Senior Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood) was third at 15.47.
- Friend, Burman and senior Sami Sellers (Van Wert/Lincolnview) posted top-5 finishes in the shot put. Friend was second in 13.12 meters, Burman was third at 12.68 and Sellers was fifth at 11.94.
- Sophomore Lily Wolfe (Mansfield/Lexington) was second in the 500 in 1:20.84, followed in fourth place by senior Katelyn Messner (Granville) in 1:25.46.
- Senior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) was third in the 60 hurdles in :09.32, with freshman Je'Leycia Procter (Dayton/Early College) in fourth in :09.42 and freshman Alex Vargo (Lorain/Steele) in fifth in :09.53.
- Senior Jaclyn Boardman (Franklin, Ind./Community) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 45 meters.
- Junior Kaitlin Prusnek (Findlay) and sophomore Isa Ramos (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) finished 4-5 in the 1000 in 3:09.14 and 3:20.64, respectively.
- Freshman Emersyn Gerken (Liberty Center) was fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.54m.
Notables
- Walsh's :21.25 in the 200 broke her own school record by .44 of a second. This marks the third time this season she has broken the record.
- Friend moved into third place on ONU's shot put list at 43' .25" and is now No. 5 in the weight throw at 50' 9.25".
- Sellers is now tied for No. 9 all-time in the shot put at 39' 2.25".
- Vargo is now No. 7 in the 60 hurdles at :09.39.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 599-177-1 in women's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .772. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
