Freshman Emersyn Gerken named OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Emersyn Gerken (Liberty Center) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 3-9.

This is Gerken's first time receiving the honor in her career.

The recognition comes after placing fifth of 37 in the high jump, clearing 1.65 meters.

Gerken ranks first in the OAC and tied for 22nd nationally in the high jump.

The Polar Bears return to action Friday at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet and on Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships at Otterbein.
