Freshman Tatum Walsh breaks 200-meter school record, wins three events as Women's Indoor Track and Field claims annual Joe Banks Invitational

ADA — Freshman Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath) broke the school record in the 200-meter dash to lead the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team to victory at the annual Joe Banks Invitational on Friday night.

Top ONU Performers
- Walsh won the 200 in a school record 25.65 seconds. She also won the 60 in 7.84 seconds.
- She also combined with senior Katelyn Messner (Granville), senior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) and freshman Alexa Lane (Lebanon) to win the 4x400 relay in 4:13.83.
- Senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) swept the throwing events with season-best efforts, tossing the shot 13.47 meters and winning the weight throw with a heave of 17.72 meters.
- Junior Ellie Ford (Upper Arlington) won the pole vault by clearing a career-best 3.67 meters, leading the Polar Bears to a 1-2-3-4 finish in the event.
- Junior Samantha Roth (Brunswick) won the 3,000-meter run in 10:42.65.
- The 4x200 relay team of sophomore Paige Simpson (Merrillville, Ind.), sophomore Lily Wolfe (Mansfield/Lexington), freshman Kendyl Stone (Ashland) and freshman Anastacia Rogan (Bellefontaine/Calvary Christian) won in 1:49.90.
- Senior Hannah Friend (Luckey/Eastwood) and senior Sami Sellers (Van Wert/Lincolnview) completed a 1-2-3 ONU finish in the shot. Friend was second at 12.23 meters and Sellers was third at 11.95 meters.

- Walsh broke her own 200 record of :25.88 that she set Jan. 17 at the Rob and Patty Lydic Invitational at the ONU Sports Center.
- Walsh's 60-meter time of :07.84 ties her for the second-fastest time in ONU history in the event and is just .02 off the record 7.82 set in 2022 by Kayla Silva.
- Ford's pole vault effort of 12'0.5" moves her into a tie for 7th all-time in ONU history in the event.
