Women's Indoor Track and Field dominates field at 16-team Muskingum Muskie Meet #2

NEW CONCORD — The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team dominated the field, winning 12 of the 19 events, to claim the 16-team Muskingum Muskie Meet #2 on Saturday.
The Basics
- Record: Ohio Northern (24-3 Overall).
- Venue: Bullock Health and Wellness Complex - New Concord, Ohio.
Meet Results
- The meet consisted of 19 events, including six field events, 11 running events and two relays.
- Ohio Northern was first of 16 teams with 219 points.
- Ohio Wesleyan was second with 104.5 points, Seton Hill (Pa.) was third with 62.5 points and Otterbein and Ursuline tied for fourth with 43 points each.
Top ONU Performers
- Senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) swept the throwing events, tossing the shot 13.45 meters and winning the weight throw with a heave of 15.45 meters.
- Freshman Tatum Walsh (Lima/Bath) won the 200-meter dash in :25.97 and the 500 in 1:22.78.
- Senior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) won the 60 hurdles in :09.70.
- Senior Ashley Hockstok (Westerville/Central) won the 5,000 in 18:26.36.
- Junior Natalie Armbruster (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) won the 3000 in 10:46.25.
- Sophomore Paige Simpson (Merrillville, Ind.) won the 60 dash in :07.88.
- Junior Kaitlin Prusnek (Findlay) won the 1000 in 3:15.65.
- Sophomore Ashley Baker (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) won the triple jump at 10.18 meters.
- Junior Ellie Ford (Upper Arlington) won the pole vault by clearing at 3.56 meters.
- Freshman Emersyn Gerken (Liberty Center) was co-champion in the high jump by clearing 1.59 meters.
Notables
- The meet consisted of 16 teams from NCAA Division II and III and NAIA.
- Burman's shot put of 44' 1.5" is a personal best for her and is just 2.5" off the school record. She remains 2nd all-time in ONU history in the event.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 594-177-1 in women's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .770.
