Senior Izzy Burman named OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 13-19.

This is Burman's fifth time receiving the honor in her career.

The recognition comes after winning the weight throw with a toss of 17.61 meters at the Rob and Patty Lydic Invitational at the ONU Sports Center on Friday night.

Burman ranks first in the OAC and 10th nationally in the event. She also ranks first in the OAC and 11th nationally in the shot put.

Burman was the OAC Champion in the weight throw and placed fourth in the shot put last year at the indoor conference meet. She was also a USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree for weight throw for the 2023-2024 indoor season.

The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday at the Muskingum Meet #2.
