Women's Indoor Track and Field remains undefeated, wins 15-team Muskingum Meet #3

NEW CONCORD — The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team remained undefeated on the season by winning the 15-team Muskingum Meet #3 on Saturday.

Meet Results
- The Polar Bears placed first of 15 teams, scoring 167 points.
- Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) was second with 115, Point Park (N.C.) was third with 75 and Mount Vernon Nazarene was fourth with 70.
Top ONU Performers
- Junior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) won the weight throw with a facility- and meet-record mark of 16.72 meters.
- Sophomore Claire Schweller (Paulding) won the pole vault by clearing a career-best 3.71 meters.
- Freshman Paige Simpson (Merrillville, Ind.) won the 60 meters in a career-best :07.95, was second in the 200 in :27.06 and was third in the 60 hurdles in :08.13.
- Sophomore Kennedy Rader (Mason) won the 5,000-meter run in 18:18.97, leading an impressive 1-2-3-5-6-7 finish by the Polar Bears.
- Junior Ashley Hockstok (Westerville/Central) was second in the event in 18:39.76 and senior Megan Vapenik (Strongsville) was third in 18:52.36.
- Sophomore Ellie Ford (Upper Arlington) finished second in the high jump, clearing 1.52 meters. Junior Toria Ingalls (Tiffin/Columbian) was fourth in the event by clearing 1.47 meters.
- Junior Chloe Gibson (Ostrander/Buckeye Valley) placed second in the long jump with a mark of 5.19 meters.
- Junior Olyvia Ashbrook (Johnstown/Northridge) placed second in the 60-meter hurdles in :09.58.
- Junior Sami Sellers (Van Wert/Lincolnview) placed third in the shot put with a mark of 11.57, with freshman Anna Brady in fourth with a mark of 11.28m.
- Ashbrook, Schweller, freshman Isa Ramos (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) and freshman Lily Wolfe (Mansfield/Lexington) were third in the 4x400 relay in 4:23.16.
Notables
- Burman nearly missed her school record mark of 16.75 meters, set last weekend at the Larry Cole Invitational at ONU.
- Schweller's mark in the pole vault keeps her at 6th all-time in ONU history, moving her up one-half inch to 12-2.
- Simpson's time in the 60 ranks third all-time at ONU, as she becomes only the third women to break the 8-second mark.
- Ohio Northern won four of the 19 events.
