Junior Anna Schatzle leads Women’s Outdoor Track and Field at Mount Union Last Chance meet

ALLIANCE — Junior Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) posted a third-place finish in the pole vault to lead the Ohio Northern women's outdoor track and field team at Thursday's Mount Union Last Chance meet at Mount Union Stadium.
Schatzle cleared a height of 3.47 meters on Thursday. Her season-best height of 3.75 meters ranks fourth all-time at ONU and is tied for 19th nationally, putting her in position to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. The top 22 individuals in each event qualify for the national meet.
Sophomore Olivia Ogg (Hebron/Lakewood) finished in a tie for fourth in the pole vault in Thursday's meet, clearing a height of 3.32 meters. Junior Cienna Kuhn (Elida) was tied for sixth with a mark of 3.02 meters.
Freshman Sami Sellers (Van Wert/Lincolnview) finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 11.11 meters and placed sixth in the discus with a personal-best mark of 40.04 meters, which ranks third all-time at ONU.
Senior Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) added a fifth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:49.72.
Thursday's meet was the final one of the season for the Polar Bears (16-4 overall) as a team.
The NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled for May 26-28 in Geneva, Ohio.
