Meet Preview: Junior Anna Schatzle is representing Ohio Northern at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. … Schatzle is competing in the pole vault on Friday at 3:30 p.m. … Schatzle qualified for the national meet by clearing a career-high 3.72 meters in last Friday's Polar Bear Final Qualifier … The top 20 individuals in each event qualify for the national meet, and Schatzle's mark is 19th-best in the country in the pole vault … Meghan Matheny, of Ithaca (N.Y.), enters as the No. 1 seed with a height of 4.00 meters … The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American status … Schatzle is looking to join Maddy Reed ('17, '18) and Maggie Krause ('19) as a Polar Bear All-American in the indoor pole vault … Reed placed third in 2017 and fifth in 2018 at the national meet, and Krause placed seventh in 2019 … Schatzle's mark of 3.72 meters ranks fifth-best in ONU history in the indoor pole vault … In the 2021 outdoor season, Schatzle earned All-OAC and USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honors in the outdoor pole vault.
