Meet Preview: The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team is hosting the two-day Polar Bear Qualifier meet on Friday and Saturday at the ONU Sports Center … Events begin at noon both days … The event will not be team scored … This is the last event participating student-athletes have to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships meet in Winston-Salem, N.C., on March 11-12 … Nationally, the top 20 individuals in each event and top 12 relay teams qualify for the Division III Championships … Junior Anna Schatzle currently ranks 18th in the pole vault at 3.69 meters … Senior Tessa Pitcovich ranks 30th in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:36.37 … Freshman Toria Ingalls ranks 32nd in the high jump at 1.63 meters … The Polar Bears are coming off the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet at Mount Union last Friday and Saturday … Northern placed third of 10 teams at the event, scoring 87 points … Sophomore Olivia Ogg won the OAC title in the pole vault, clearing 3.47 meters … Other All-OAC honorees included Pitcovich (5,000 meters, 3,000 meters), Ingalls (high jump) senior Kayla Silva (60 meters) and freshman Chloe Gibson (triple jump) … The top three finishers in each event earned All-OAC status.
