Meet Preview: The Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team will compete in the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet at Mount Union's Peterson Field House on Friday and Saturday … On Friday, field events begin at noon, and track events begin at 4 p.m. … On Saturday, field events begin at 10 a.m., and track events begin at 2:30 p.m. … The top three individuals in each of the 19 events, including relays, will earn All-Conference recognition … No. 14 Mount Union is the lone OAC team ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Division III poll … The Polar Bears placed third in the 2021 OAC Championships, which were held at Otterbein, behind champion John Carroll and runner-up Mount Union … Senior Kayla Silva is a defending All-OAC honoree in the 200 meters and 60 meters after placing second and third, respectively, in those events last season … Silva enters the weekend ranking seventh and tied for fourth, respectively, in the OAC in those events this season … Silva holds the program record in the 60-meter dash (:07.82) and ranks second all-time at ONU in the 55 meters (:07.29) and 200 meters (:26.06) … Junior Anna Schatzle leads the OAC with a top mark of 3.69 meters in the pole vault this season, which ranks 15th in NCAA Division III … Senior Tessa Pitcovich ranks third in the OAC with her top time in the 5,000 meters (17:54.51), which ranks 38th in Division III … Toria Ingalls ranks third in the OAC with her top mark in the high jump (1.58 meters) … The Polar Bears are coming off Saturday's Wittenberg Invitational, which was not team scored … Sophomore Natalie Garrett won the weight throw with a personal-best distance of 15.39 meters, which set a new facility record at Steemer Fieldhouse and ranks fourth all-time at ONU … Garrett was named OAC Field Athlete of the Week for her performance … Senior Taylor Ellerbrock, junior Lexi Neff and sophomore Oleysa Mertz finished 1-2-3 in the 1,000 meters … Schatzle placed second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.69 meters, which ranks fifth all-time at ONU … Freshman Olyvia Ashbrook placed second in the 500 meters, and the 1,600 meter relay team of sophomore Rosie Schroeder, juniors Gabrielle Kowalczyk and Gizem Tanriverdi and freshman Rylie Barrington also posted a second-place finish.
