ADA — Sophomore Natalie Garrett (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 14-20.
This marks the first such honor for Garrett in her career.
Garrett won the weight throw in Saturday's Wittenberg Invitational with an indoor personal-best distance of 50-6.00 (15.39 meters), which broke the prior Steemer Fieldhouse facility record of 48-1.00 (14.67 meters).
That distance surpassed her previous best of 47-7.00 and ranks fourth all-time at ONU.
The Polar Bears return to action on Friday and Saturday for the OAC Championships at Mount Union.
