Tessa Pitcovich wins the 5000 to lead Women's Track and Field at Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic

MARION, Ind. — Senior Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Monroe Falls) won the 5000 meters as the Ohio Northern women's track and field team competed at the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic Satruday at the Troyer Fieldhouse.
The meet was not team scored.
Pitcovich recorded the only Polar Bear victory, winning the 5000 meters in 17:55.90, and senior Rue Whitmore crossed fifth in 19:04.95.
Junior Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) finished second in the pole vault with a best vault of 3.52 meters and sophomore Olivia Ogg (Hebron/Lakewood) finished in fifth place with her vault of 3.27 meters.
Senior Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) crossed the line third in the mile run in 5:19.45.
Junior Lexi Neff (Northfield/Walsh Jesuit) was fourth in the 800 meters in 2:25.13.
Freshman Toria Ingalls (Tiffin/Columbian) finished in fourth place in the high jump with a best jump of 1.55 meters.
Senior Mackenzie Detmer (Liberty Center) placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 9.54 meters.
Sopomore Allie Starner (Wellington) was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in :09.81.
Freshman Chloe Gibson (Ostrander/Buckeye Valley) recorded a fifth place finish in the long jump with a best jump of 5.04 meters.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships in Westerville.
