Colvin, Vestal, Whitmore improve times at Baldwin Wallace's Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet

BEREA — Three Ohio Northern student/athletes improved on their season-best times at the Baldwin Wallace Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet on Friday night at Finnie Stadium.
Seniors Kathleen Colvin (Hilliard/Bishop Ready) and Kylie Vestal (Youngstown/Austintown Fitch) and junior Rue Whitmore (Mason) all surpassed their previous season-best times.
11:19.75:55.21 in the 3000 steeplechase and Whitmore ran an 18:19.60 in the 5000.
The top 19 athletes in each event will qualify for the NCAA III Championships at Greensboro, N.C. May 27-29.
Vestal's time moved her into 26th place nationally.
Senior Stella DeWitt (Weston/Cardinal Stritch) is currently ranked 19th in the long jump with a leap of 5.60 meters, She jumped 5.41 meters on Friday night.
Junior Kayla Silva (Westerville/South) is 33rd in the 100-meter dash in :12.25. She ran a :12.38 in the prelims and a :12.39 in the finals on Friday.

Eight Ohio Northern athletes competed in the non-scoring meet.
The Polar Bears will get one more shot to get into the championships when they compete at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet on Wednesday.
