Krause, Whitmore lead Women's Track and Field to 8th place at All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE — Senior Maggie Krause (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) and sophomore Rue Whitmore (Mason) guided the Ohio Northern women's track and field team to an eighth place finish at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday.
Krause vaulted 3.75 meters, placing in a tie for first. Whitmore was third in the 5000, crossing in 18:16.00.
The Polar Bears finished with 32.5 points. Mount Union won the meet with 119.5 points and Otterbein was 2nd with 104.75 points.
Joining Whitmore in the 5000 were sophomore Tessa Pitcovich (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) and senior Kathleen Colvin (Hilliard/Bishop Ready). Pitcovich was fifth in 18:40.02 and Colvin was eighth in 18:54.34)
Freshman Anna Schaltze (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) vaulted 3.35 meters for fifth.
In the 3000, junior Megan Wright (Eaton/Twin Valley South) was fifth in 10:40.35
Sophomore Kayla Silva (Westerville/South) raced to sixth in the 60 dash, finishing in 7.97 seconds. Silva also placed 11th in the 200 dash in 26.48 seconds.
Junior Chyanne Retcher (Ney/Fairview) placed ninth in 5:16.96 in the mile.
Ohio Northern returns to action on Saturday at the Wittenberg Invitational.
