Wright wins 3000-meter run, paces Women's Track and Field at Findlay Invitational

FINDLAY — Junior Megan Wright (Eaton/Twin Valley South) won the 3000-meter run in a career-best 10:37.34 to lead the Ohio Northern women's track and field team at the Findlay Invitational at the Robert A. Malcolm Athletic Center.
The invitational was unscored.
The 4 x 400 relay grouping of seniors of Sydney McCluer (Columbus Grove), Taylor Lavey (New Baltimore, Mich./Findlay), Melinda McIntosh (Farmersville/Valley View), and sophomore Emily Norden (Carey) placed second in 4:23.31.
In the mile, senior Madeleine Routhier (West Unity/Hilltop) was second in a career-best 5:30.31 and sophomore Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) was fourth in 5:58.04.
Junior Stella DeWitt (Weston/Cardinal Stritch) was third in the 300 in 46.84 seconds. DeWitt was also fourth in the long jump with a 4.88-meter leap.
Junior Kylie Vestal (Youngstown/Austintown Fitch) crossed third in the 3000 in a career-best 10:43.93. Senior Kathleen Colvin (Hilliard/Bishop Ready) was fourth in a career-best 10:50.13 and junior Chyanne Retcher (Ney/Fairview) placed fifth in 11:18.51.
In the high jump, freshman Jessica Goodwin (Troy) cleared 1.48 meters for fourth and sophomore Audra Meeks (Waynesfield/Goshen) cleared 1.43 meters for fifth.
The Polar Bears will return to action on January 24. Northern hosts the Larry Cole Friday Night Invite at 6 p.m.
