This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern women's track and field team returns to action this Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Otterbein ... The meet is slated for a 12 p.m. start ... Running events will be held inside Clements Recreation Center while throwing competitions will be held in OU's Rike Center ... The Polar Bears enter competition owning a 5-1 overall record and are ranked fifth in the Great Lakes Region ... Last Saturday, Northern finished second in a seven-team field with 177 points at the 2019 Joe Banks Invitational inside the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse ... Sophomore Stella DeWitt captured individual event titles in the long jump (5.47 meters) and triple jump (10.41 meters), both efforts serving as season-best marks ... Meanwhile, junior All-American Maggie Krause and classmate Allison Stevens ended first and second in the pole vault, respectively ... Krause secured her third consecutive title in 2019 with a 3.86-meter (12' 8") clearance, while Stevens vaulted 3.66 meters (12' 0") for a new career-best mark ... For her efforts, Krause was named the OAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season ... Krause is currently ranked second on the NCAA Division III performance list, and Stevens sits 15th in the country ... Senior Avery Ewing posted a 1:19.32 clocking in the 500-meter run to win the event title ... In the sprints, freshman Kayla Silva and junior Taylor Lavey swept the 60-meter and 200-meter dash titles in 8.01 and :26.52, respectively ... Freshmen Courtney Smith, Renee Lange, Emily Norden, and senior Sydney McCluer capped the winning efforts, taking the 4x200-meter relay title in 1:48.49 ... Last season, the Polar Bears finished fourth in a 17-team field with 67 points at the All-Ohio Championships.
