No. 11-ranked Women's Outdoor Track & Field wins Marv Frye Invitational

DELAWARE — The Ohio Northern women's track team had an impressive showing as the No. 11-ranked Polar Bears claimed first place at the Marv Frye Inviational on Saturday afternoon at Ohio Wesleyan University.
The Polar Bears improve to 47-3 with the first place finish.
Sophomore Maddy Reed (Lucasville/Piketon) posted a record-setting day to lead ONU at the meet.
The Polar Bears had three athletes finish in the top-3 in the pole vault as Reed led the way.
The sophomore won the event with a school-record leap of 12' 8.25", while junior Kelly Wollenslegal and freshman Magie Krause each tied for third place with a height of 11' 1.75".
Senior Rebecca Olashuk (Defiance/Tinora) opened the meet with a first place finish in the hammer throw on the first day of the meet.
The senior claimed first place with a toss of 154' 8.00", while sophomore Tia Harris (Newton Falls) also posted a top-3 finish in the event as she took third place with a throw of 136' 10.00".
Harris followed her third place finish with a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 39' 1.75".
Senior Kendra Paul (Ada) also posted a first place finish for the Polar Bears as she won the javelin throw with a toss of 124' 1.00, while senior Allie Gast (Grandville, Mich.) finished third in the event with a throw of 115' 6.00".
Northern finished 2-3 in the long jump as senior Kelsey Commager (Maumee) finished second with a mark of 17' 4.75" and senior Rebecca Carman (Bellefontaine) claimed third place with a jump of 16' 8.75".
Commager won the triple jump as she finished with a mark of 36' 2.25", nearly two feet more than the next closest competitor.
Carman posted a second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing in :15.95.
Junior Emily Richards (Delaware/Hayes) claimed first place in the 400-meter dash as she finished the event in :56.39.
Richards also posted a second place finish in the 200-meter dash for Northern, finishing in :26.58.
In the 5,000-meter dash, senior Genevieve Marchese (Beavercreek/Carroll) won the event in 18:37.94.
In the 100-meter dash, freshman Taylor Lavey (Findlay) posted a top-3 finish as she finished third in :12.53.
The 4x400-meter relay team of seniors Meagan Ellinger (Bath, Ind./Union County), Michelle Mosler (Wapakoneta), sophomore Avery Ewing (Kokomo, Ind./Eastern) and Fisher posted a third place finish in the event with a time of 4:03.49.
Northern returns to the track Saturday, Apr. 15 as it competes in the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
