Women's Track & Field celebrates Senior Day by winning the Polar Bear Invitational

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's track and field team finished 1st of 10 teams Saturday afternoon at the Polar Bear Invitational hosted at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears won the meet with 182 points, while Findlay took second with 116.5 points.
Junior Allie Gast won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.19 and also claimed a first place finish in the 200-meter dash in 25.74.
Freshman Maddy Reed also had an impressive day as she won the pole vault with an NCAA qualifying height of 12 feet 6 inches.
Freshman Taylor Fisher also garnered a first place finish, winning the 400-hurdles in 1:09.92.
Senior Kristine Wagner won the 100-meter dash in 12.67, while freshman Stephanie Walton won the long jump with a leap of 17 feet 7.50 inches.
In the triple jump, junior Kelsey Commager took first place with a jump of 37 feet 1.75 inches, followed by junior Dianna Johnson-Ward in second with a leap of 36 feet 4 inches and Walton in eighth with a jump of 34 feet 2.25.
Senior Julie Amos finished tied for second in the high jump with a height of 4 feet 11.75 inches.
In the 800-meter run, senior Rebekah McCutchen finished second in 2:23.59.
The 4x400-meter relay of senior Margaret Sorg, junior Genevieve Marchese, junior Morgan Rouch and freshman Michaela Fox finished second in 4:37.05. Followed by the team of freshman Janelle Posthuma, freshman Kristina Myers, freshman Jocelyn Reinhart and sophomore Danielle Sutter in third in 4:45.91.
In the pole vault, senior Sarah Ballmer finished third with a height of 10 feet 10.25 inches, while sophomore Kelly Wollenslegal finished fourth.
Gast claimed a third place finish in the javelin with a toss of 111 feet 3 inches, while sophomore Kristina Flak finished third in the 400-hurdles in 1:14.35.
Junioe Rebecca Carman garnered a third place finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.91.
In the 5,000-meter run, freshman Angie Sullivan claimed third, while freshman Margaret Kimmel took fourth in 22:00.87.
Johnson-Ward took second in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet 2.25 inches, followed by Commager in fourth with a jump of 16 feet 9.25 inches.
Freshman Avery Ewing claimed a fourth place finish in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.75, while Wagner took fourth in the 200-meter dash in 26.04.
In the 1,500-meter run, Marchese finished fifth in 5:01.78, followed by junior Nicole Huber in seventh in 5:08.08 and Sutter in ninth in 5:15.91.
Junior Michelle Mosler finished fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:31.19, followed by Reinhart in ninth in 2:34.11.
In the hammer throw, senior Michaela Dramis finished seventh with a toss of 144 feet 3 inches.
In the 100-meter dash, Ellinger finished eighth in 12.94. She also garnered an eighth place finish in the 200-meter dash in 26.61.
Sophomore Elizabeth Werner finished tenth in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet 11.25 inches and tenth in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet 6.25 inches.
Sophomore Emily Richards competed at the Jesse Owens Track Classic hosted by Ohio State University, where she claimed a second place finish in the 800-meter run.
The sophomore set a new school record, running the third fastest time in NCAA DIII history in 2:05.54.
The Polar Bears return to action next Friday and Saturday as they compete at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Wilmington.
