Senior Gabrielle Metzner breaks school record as the Women’s Indoor Track and Field team hosts the Polar Bear Last Chance meet

Senior Gabrielle Metzner placed first in the 60-meter hurdles as the Ohio Northern women's indoor track and field team hosted the Polar Bear Last Chance meet at the Ohio Northern University Field House.

Metzner finished the race in 9.04 seconds, breaking the previous record of 9.08 seconds.

This meet was not scored.

Freshman Emily Richards placed second in the 800-meter run in 2:14.37, setting a new personal record.  

Sophomore Allison Gast also set a personal record as she placed third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.33 seconds.

Metzner also placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.62m.

Sophomores Rebecca Carman and Kelsey Commager placed third and fifth in the long jump.

Carman's leap was measured at 5.28m and Commager's at 4.90m.

Commager also placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.43m.  

Junior Kristine Wagner placed sixth in the women's pentathlon, scoring a total of 2,771 points.

Wagner competed in the long jump, high jump, 60-meter hurdles, shot put, and the 800-meter run. She placed first in the long jump and fifth in the high jump.

Freshman Kelly Andrews placed sixth in the weight throw with a pitch of 14.49m.

Senior Catie Huber and junior Rebekah McCutchen placed seventh and eighth in the 1-mile run.

Huber finished in 5:19.16 and McCutchen in 5:28.99.

Ohio Northern concludes their indoor season and will await the final standings for the NCAA DIII Championships to be held March 13-14 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
