Two OAC records fall in Day 1 of the OAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships

ADA -- Mount Union sits atop the leader board after Day 1 of the OAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
After five events, the Purple Raiders have 42 points, Otterbein is in second place with 29 points and Marietta is third with 27 points.
Mount Union's Mary Mahoney broke her own OAC record in the 60 dash preliminaries, finishing in 7.75 seconds.
Emma McCarron of Captial broke the OAC record in the 3,000 run by over 11 seconds, posting a time of 10:07.54.
Jordan Long of Otterbein captured the pole vault title, clearing 3.46 meters.
Veronica Clutter of Mount Union won the long jump with a leap of 5.51 meters, while Tanisha Ford of Muskingum was first in the weight throw, with a throw of 15.46 meters.
The Ohio Northern DMR team of senior Lydia Weaver and Alison Steinbrunner, sophomore Catie Huber and freshman Brittany Lee finished first in 12:20.74.
Competition will begin at 10 am tomorrow with field events and at 2 pm with the running events.
