Women's Tennis improves to 5-1 in OAC with 8-1 Senior Day victory over Mount Union at West Campus Courts

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team improved to 5-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with an 8-1 Senior Day victory over Mount Union on a beautifully warm and sunny day at the West Campus Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 16-5 overall, while the Purple Raiders fall to 2-7, 1-5.
Senior Jeorgia Templin (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was honored in a pre-match Senior Day ceremony and was one of three ONU players to post 2-0 records on the day.
Templin won her No. 6 singles match 6-0, 6-0 and combined with junior Flo Sanchez (West Chester/Lakota West) to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Sixth-year senior Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) and junior Regan Landis (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) also had 2-0 records.
Curry enjoyed her Senior Day celebration last season and decided to come back this spring for her second COVID-19 year.
She won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for her 27th consecutive singles win and combined with Landis to win 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Landis won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles to complete her 2-0 day.
Freshman Katie O'Connell (Novi, Mich./Saint Catherine) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and freshman Miranda Wills (Ada) won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday when they entertain Wittenberg in a non-conference match at the West Campus Courts.
