Friday's Match: The Ohio Northern women's tennis team will continue its abbreviated 2021 season on Friday with a 1 pm conference contest at Capital at the Scarborough East Indoor Tennis Center ... A limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend the games based on the OAC's COVID-19 policy ... Each player will receive two admissions each game ... No tickets will be available to the general public ... Senior Mackenzie Wills became Ohio Northern's all-time career singles victories leader, leading ONU to a 9-0 non-conference victory at Marietta on Saturday ... Wills won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for her school record 84th singles victory, breaking the previous record she shared with Meghan Letizia, who accomplished the feat from 2012-16 ... She also joined with sophomore Jeorgia Templin (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles ... Wills was named the OAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week ... She is also second all-time at ONU with a career record of 165-48 and is 5th all-time with an 81-30 mark in doubles matches ... Junior Ola Latala won at No.1 singles 6-2, 7-6(5) and joined with freshman Olivia Kesner to win at No. 2 doubles 8-4 ... Kesner also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles ... Senior Katie Curry won at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-1, senior Jordan Dodson won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and freshman Mykaela Schriber won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles ... Curry and sophomore Regan Landis won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles ... Curry ranks 8th all-time in ONU history with a 135-53 career record ... She also ranks sixth all-time in ONU history with a singles mark of 75-20 ... The Crusaders opened their 2021 season with a 6-3 victory at Mount Union last Saturday ... Kelli Wright-Lovell, Josie Nichols, Amy Wright-Lovell and Karen Kanke all went 4-0 on the day.

Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 20th season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 383-102 (.790) record, including a 142-15 (.904) mark in regular season conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles ... He was recently recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as one of the top 10 all-time winning women's tennis coaches in the nation.
