Freshman Morgan Schaeffer leads Women's Tennis to 9-0 sweep at NCAA Division II foe Ursuline

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS — Freshman Morgan Schaeffer won twice to lead the Ohio Northern women's tennis team to a 9-0 sweep of Ursuline on Thursday indoors at the Mayfield Heights Racquet Club.
The Polar Bears improve to 3-1 on the season, while the NCAA Division II Arrows fall to 0-1.
Schaeffer won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and combined with junior Meghan Letizia to win 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Junior Christina Corbean won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 sinlges, sophomore Brittany Toney won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and freshman Morgan McGlothlin won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
Junior Taryn Stromback and freshman Lynn Kelly won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles for ONU.
Ohio Northern also got forfeit wins at Nos. 5-6 singles and No. 3 doubles to complete the sweep.
The Polar Bears will return to action Monday with matches at Glendale (Ariz.) Community College and Paradise Valley (Ariz.) Community College in the Phoenix area as part of their annual spring break trip.
