Women's Swimming and Diving opens 2025 OAC Championships with fourth place finish in 800-yard free relay

AKRON — The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team opened the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet with a fourth place finish in the 800-yard free relay in 8:11.94 on Wednesday night.

The Basics

Records: Ohio Northern (4-4 overall).
Venue: Ocasek Natatorium - Akron, Ohio.
Ohio Northern is in in fourth place out of 6 teams with 30 points after the first of 20 events over a four-day span.
John Carroll leads the team standings with 40 points. Mount Union is second with 36 points, Baldwin Wallace is third with 32 points, Heidelberg is fifth with 28 points and Wilmington is sixth with 26 points.

Meet Highlights

The 800-yard relay team of freshman Lila DeLong (New Albany), senior Hannah Eversole (Cincinnati/Mt. Notre Dame), freshman Kate Kalmanowicz (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) and freshman Abby Leatherman (Findlay/Van Buren) were fourth in the race in 8:11.94.

Notables

The meet consists of 20 events, including 13 individual races, five relays and two diving events.
The top three individuals and top two relays in each event earn All-Conference honors.
Ohio Northern has won 7 OAC Championships titles since 2007.
