Lubinski, Taylor, Sartschev each win twice to pace Women's Swimming & Diving in 171-117 loss at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — Freshman Megan Lubinski (Milford/Brighton) led a trio of swimmers with two event wins each to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team in a 171-117 loss at John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at the Johnson Natatorium.
The Polar Bears fall to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while competing in the second day of back-to-back competitions after a home victory over Wilmington on Friday evening.
The Blue Streaks improve to 1-1, 1-0.
Lubinski won the 50 free in :25.39 and the 100 free in :56.52 and also placed second in the 200 free in 2:02.80.
Sophomore Marissa Taylor (Granite Falls, N.C./South Caldwell) won the 500 free in 5:31.81 and the 1000 free in 11:19.55.
Junior Libby Sartschev (Parma/Normandy) swept the diving competitions, winning the 1-meter with 162.30 points and the 3-meter with 151.40 points.
Senior Kierra Watson (Brownsburg, Ind.) had three second place finishes and junior Lauren Halle (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) finished second in a pair of events.
Watson was second in the 100 fly in 1:03.37, the 100 back in 1:03.12 and the 200 back in 2:16.874 and Halle was second in the 200 fly in 2:19.75 and the 400 I.M. in 5:00.91.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Friday and Saturday at the Calvin (Mich.) Invitational.
