Samantha Tiongson is in her first season as the assistant women's soccer coach at Ohio Northern.

Tiongson comes to ONU from Pacesetter Soccer Club in Toledo, where she began coaching girls club soccer in 2019.

In her three years with Pacesetter, Tiongson has led one team to the U.S. Club Nationals semifinals and two teams to the ECNL Regional League national finals.

She was named the girls U15-U19 director of coaching at Pacesetter in 2021.

A native of Carmel, Ind., Tiongson was a four-year starting goalkeeper at the University of Toledo for four years from 2012 to 2015.

She graduated from UT in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.

She currently ranks third all-time at Toledo in career shutouts (13), fourth in goalkeeper minutes played (4,957:21) and fifth in wins (18) and saves (174).

After graduating from UT, Tiongson played for the first-ever Toledo Villa FC women's team in 2017.

She began her coaching career in 2015 with the Toledo Celtics boys club soccer team.

Tiongson later served as a high school boys soccer assistant coach at St. Francis de Sales in 2017, Ottawa Hills in 2018 and Sylvania Northview from 2019 to 2021.

While at Sylvania Northview, she was named NLL Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019 and NWOSSCA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020.
