Six Polar Bears named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team

ADA — Six Ohio Northern student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators NCAA Division III Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for the 2024 season.
Fifth-year senior forward Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll), fifth-year senior defender Kylie Cabana (Dexter, Mich.), senior midfielders Emma Bowman (Novi, Mich./Northville), Libby Johnson (Fairfield), senior forward Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) and junior forward Haley Cannon (Oregon/Clay) were each named Academic All-District.
Bowman is making her third appearance on the Academic All-District team, while Roberts, Johnson, Pierce, and Cannon are second-time honorees and Cabana is a first-time award winner.
Bowman is a three-time All-OAC honree, earning First Team honor this season and Second Team accolades in 2023 and 2022.
An Academic All-OAC selection the past two seasons, the nursing major has played in 82 career games, including 81 starts, scoring five goals to go with 25 assists for 35 career points. Her assist total is ranked fifth all-time in ONU history.
Roberts is a five-time All-OAC selection, earning First Team accolades this season and in 2022, Second Team in 2021, Third Team last season, and was Honorable Mention in 2020. She also earned Second Team All-Region and All-Ohio honors in 2022.
A three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, the biology and spanish major has appeared in 90 career games, which is ranked first all-time at ONU. Roberts has started in 85 career games with 62 points on 23 goals and 16 assists.
Johnson was named Academic All-OAC in both 2022 and 2023.
Johnson, an accounting major, has nine career points, including four goals and one assist.
Pierce was named First Team All-OAC this season.
A two-time Academic All-OAC selection, the mechanical engineering major has appeared in 84 career matches, including 77 starts, scoring 16 goals to go with eight goals for 40 points.
Cannon earned Second Team All-Conference honors last season and was also named Academic All-OAC in 2023.
The criminal justice and sociology major will enter her senior season with 16 points on five goals and six assists.
Cabana is a three-time All-OAC selection, including being named OAC Defender of the Year this season and in 2022, and also earned Third Team All-America honors in 2022.
A three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, the biology and pre-dentistry major has started in 68 of 72 career games recording 11 goals to go with 16 assists for 38 career points.
The CSC Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
First, Second and Third Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced Dec. 11.
The Polar Bears finished the season at 15-6-1 overall, won the OAC Regular Season title with a 8-1-0 record, and were OAC Tournament Champions, earning an automatic bid to their seventh NCAA III Tournament appearance.
