Women's Soccer falls 2-0 to No. 3 Washington & Lee (Va.) in Second Round of NCAA III Tournament

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team fell 2-0 to No. 3-ranked Washington & Lee in the Second Round of the NCAA III Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Basics

• Records: Ohio Northern (15-6-1 Overall), Washington & Lee (20-1-1 Overall).
• Venue: Alston Parker Watt Field — Lexington, Va.

The Match

• The Generals scored in the 26th minute and again in the 37th minute.
• Senior Julia Flanagan (Dublin/Watterson) led Ohio Northern with two shots.
• Sophomore Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) had five saves in goal for ONU.
• WLU out-shot ONU 16-5 and had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Notables

• Ohio Northern is making its seventh NCAA III Tournament appearance.
• The Polar Bears are 8-4-2 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, including a 1-5-1 record in Second Round matches.
• This was the first meeting between the two teams in the history of Ohio Northern women's soccer.
• The Polar Bears secured their 21st consecutive winning season this year.
• Senior Alyssa Beckett (Monroe) led the team with 11 goals to go with 25 points and three assists.
• Fifth-year senior Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) led the team with 26 points and eight assists to go along with nine goals.
• This is the 37th season of Ohio Northern women's soccer. The Polar Bears are now 443-219-57 all-time in program history.
